Many academic libraries do not typically collect case studies.  Although some case studies may be available through Interlibrary Loan, many of the case studies from publishers like the like the Harvard School of Business or Stanford School of Business, must be purchased by the user, in part because of copyright limits on distribution of this document type.  However, this does not mean that cases studies are not available. 

Case studies often are featured in books or journals in the library databases.  These can be found by searching on "case studies" or "case study" in article titles or abstracts and the target topic, e.g. biotechnology AND "case study."  

To find case studies in ProQuest, click the Advanced Search link under the search box on the main page. Once you're in Advanced Search

1. Scroll down the page to Document Type, and select Case Study from the menu.
2. Scroll back up the page and enter your search terms.
3. Or just search for your topic and "case study".

  Case studies on entrepreneurship, leadership/ethics, operations management, strategy, sustainability, and system dynamics which are made available under a creative commons license (see the copyright notice at the end of the case study for specifics).

• Oikos Free Cases

  "The oikos Free Cases provide peer-reviewed cases on sustainability in management, entrepreneurship and finance to lecturers around the world for free under the Creative Commons license."

  Publicly available cases in this collection are distributed by Harvard Business Publishing and The Case Centre.

• The Sustainable Business Case Book
